Det Nang caught major attention after Truant Fu shared the news on Instagram, revealing a seriously stacked lineup. What made it even more impressive? The event was organized by Noi, a charity foundation started by students from the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS)—yes, high schoolers. They brought together some of Vietnam’s hottest bands for a night dedicated to raising money for children in need. Seriously, that level of ambition and heart is next level.

Det Nang took place on July 7, 2025, at a venue called Golden Bird in Ho Chi Minh City. The show started around 5:45 pm and ended around 10 pm. The event was impressively well put together, leaving many wondering, “How did these high schoolers manage to host a show like this, with such an insane lineup?”
There were three high school bands on the lineup, and on show day, all three ended up performing—and they truly delivered. Teorye kicked off strong with classic rock covers like “Hotel California,” “Creep,” “Hysteria,” and “Bring Me To Life.” Cheese Boys impressed with their unique charm, each member sporting a cheese-inspired nickname like Mozzarella, Ricotta, or Parmesan. Their covers of well-known Vietnamese indie rock songs were spot-on, with flawless instruments, vocals, and rap. Innocenza then brought a completely different vibe to the stage. Their rock version of “Bông Hồng Nhỏ,” a classic children’s song, was incredible. Their remake of “Vài Lần Đón Đưa,” a popular 2010s hit, was equally captivating, adding a fresh rock feel to a familiar tune. These performances clearly showed that events like Det Nang are prime places for discovering emerging talent.

Bet Band’s set followed, offering a shift in tone with a more chill, softer, and laid-back style focused on themes of unrequited love. Their vibe created the perfect balance after the high-energy rock performances earlier in the evening.
WHEE! was another standout surprise. While some may have heard their songs on TikTok, hearing hits like “Bất Bình Thường” and “Bất Chấp” live was an unforgettable experience that cemented their place as a fan favorite.
Truant Fu took the stage next, the main draw for many attendees. Despite playing only three songs—“Run Away,” “Rối Ren,” and their latest fan favorite “Một Thời”—their performance was electric. The audience enthusiastically sang along, especially to “Một Thời,” showcasing the deep connection between the band and their fans.
Minh Tốc & Lam followed, with the highlight of their set being “Bầu Trời Mới,” a collaboration with one of Vietnam’s most popular bands, Da LAB. The sight of the entire audience singing along with Lam was a heartwarming moment that stood out as a key highlight of the night.

52Hz was the second-to-last act and had gained significant attention over the past year thanks to breakout songs and an appearance on the popular music reality show Em Xinh Say Hi. Her set featured major hits like “ĐỢI” and “Mê Cung Tình Yêu.” The meaning behind “ĐỢI”—about waiting for a partner who will never return due to passing away—added a heartbreaking layer to the song’s warm, Christmassy melody.
Another touching moment came when 52Hz brought her husband, RIO, onstage at the audience’s request. RIO, who is also her producer, helped with sound throughout the set. For the final song, he joined 52Hz onstage to perform “vạn vật như muốn ta bên nhau,” a track they wrote for their wedding earlier that year. The set closed with their usual goodbye tradition—a sweet kiss—that left the crowd deeply moved.
The Cassette closed out the show. While some fans may have wished to hear more of their favorite songs, the band’s commanding stage presence and the enthusiastic crowd response made for a strong finish to an unforgettable night.
Det Nang was more than just a concert—it was a vibrant celebration of music, community, and heart. From the incredible talent of young high school bands to the captivating performances by well-known artists, every moment felt genuine and full of passion. What made the night even more meaningful was knowing it was all for a cause: supporting children in need through the Noi charity foundation. As the final notes faded and the crowd slowly dispersed, I left feeling inspired—not only by the music but by the power of youth and community coming together to make a difference. I can’t wait to see what these artists and organizers do next.
