ONE OK ROCK Celebrate 20 Years With ‘A DECADE OF GREATEST HITS’
Twenty years of ONE OK ROCK is a lot of music to fit onto one record, but ONE OK ROCK: A DECADE OF GREATEST HITS is taking on the challenge with 18 tracks that trace some of the band's biggest moments while leaving room for something completely new. Arriving October 30 via Fueled by Ramen/Atlantic Records, the collection will feature the brand-new song “Fever” alongside fan favorites spanning the band's international rise and most recent era.
Formed in Tokyo in 2005, ONE OK ROCK is made up of Taka on vocals, Toru on guitar, Tomoya on drums, and Ryota on bass. What began as a young band playing the Tokyo live house circuit grew into a career that would take the quartet well beyond Japan, with their sound developing across emo, post-hardcore, pop, and arena rock. Their live performances have become just as central to their identity, taking them from club stages to arenas and stadiums around the world and putting them on tours with artists including Linkin Park, Muse, and Evanescence.
A DECADE OF GREATEST HITS pulls from the latter half of that journey, beginning with songs connected to the era surrounding 35xxxv and continuing through DETOX, the band's 2025 studio album. Rather than presenting the collection as a chronological career retrospective, the tracklist is built around songs that have remained important to the band's live and fan experience, bringing together some of ONE OK ROCK's most recognizable material across four vinyl sides.
The album opens with “Fever,” giving fans a completely new song before moving into “Delusion:All,” “Renegades,” “Stand Out Fit In,” and “Wasted Nights.” That opening side alone covers several different sides of the band's sound, from the heavier edge of “Delusion:All” to the arena-sized pull of “Wasted Nights,” while “Renegades” and “Stand Out Fit In” represent the band's ability to pair rock instrumentation with songs built to reach far beyond the traditional rock audience.
Side B shifts into some of the band's more emotionally charged material with “Cry Out,” “Save Yourself,” “One Way Ticket,” and “Heartache.” These are songs where Taka's vocals often carry as much weight as the instrumentation surrounding them, giving the collection room to move between explosive rock moments and tracks that hit closer to home. “Heartache” in particular brings a more vulnerable side of the band's catalog into a collection otherwise filled with songs designed to fill large rooms.
The third side brings together “We Are,” “Change,” “Take What You Want” featuring 5 Seconds of Summer, and “Vandalize,” continuing the balance between anthemic rock and the genre-blending approach that has become part of ONE OK ROCK's sound. “Take What You Want” also reflects the band's history of working beyond the boundaries of a traditional rock lineup, while “Vandalize” brings a more recent track into the same conversation as songs that have been part of the band's catalog for years.
The final side rounds out the collection with “Dystopia,” “Prove,” “Taking Off,” “+Matter,” and “I Was King,” giving fans another look at the range of eras represented throughout the album. Together, the four sides move between songs that have become familiar concert staples and tracks that capture different points in the band's evolving sound, making the collection less about choosing a single version of ONE OK ROCK and more about showing how many versions have existed over the years.
The new collection also arrives after another major moment for the band with Live From DETOX JAPAN TOUR 2025, a concert film and accompanying six-track Live EP recorded during ONE OK ROCK's hometown performance at Nissan Stadium. The show brought 70,000 fans together for a performance centered around DETOX, the band's 11th studio album, giving the group another opportunity to revisit its music in a setting where the scale of its live sound could fully come through.
For longtime fans, A DECADE OF GREATEST HITS offers a chance to put familiar songs together in a new context, while newer listeners get an introduction to the different sounds and eras that shaped ONE OK ROCK's international catalog. Most importantly, the collection does not stop at looking backward. With “Fever” leading the tracklist and a worldwide vinyl release accompanying the album, ONE OK ROCK's 20th anniversary celebration is making room for both the songs fans already know by heart and whatever comes next.
