ONE OR EIGHT Find Their ‘Yellow Brick Road’ with Black Clover 2nd Season
Some dreams start with a plan. Others start with refusing to give up. For Black Clover 2nd Season, ONE OR EIGHT turns that idea into “Yellow Brick Road,” a new song built around the same determination that has kept Asta moving forward.
ONE OR EIGHT has been building its own path around that same mentality since making its debut in August 2024. The eight-member group—MIZUKI, NEO, REIA, RYOTA, SOUMA, TAKERU, TSUBASA, and YUGA—takes its name from the Japanese phrase “ichi ka bachi ka,” meaning “all or nothing,” with the motto “BET ON YOURSELF” at the center of its identity. That message comes through clearly in the group’s connection to “Yellow Brick Road,” which was created specifically for Black Clover 2nd Season and reflects the idea of continuing toward a dream even when the road becomes difficult. For MIZUKI, the connection carries an especially personal feeling, as he has followed Black Clover since the manga first began serialization.
Premiering October 3 on TV Tokyo and its affiliated networks, Black Clover 2nd Season continues the story of Asta, a boy born into a world where magic determines so much of a person’s place and possibility. Asta has none of it, yet his goal of becoming the Wizard King has never disappeared. His journey has always been shaped by persistence, the friends who stand beside him, and the willingness to keep pushing after every setback. Those ideas became the foundation for ONE OR EIGHT’s “Yellow Brick Road,” giving the group a song that connects directly with the heart of the series while also reflecting its own story of pursuing a dream that began in Japan and has continued reaching audiences around the world.
ONE OR EIGHT approached the track through the shared challenges faced by Asta and his friends, drawing a parallel to the way the members have continued challenging themselves as a group and taking their ambitions further with the support of their fans, 1DERZ. The song carries the spirit of pushing beyond familiar limits and continuing to move forward, a message that fits naturally alongside ONE OR EIGHT’s “BET ON YOURSELF” philosophy.
That spirit is also present in EN-GÏNE, ONE OR EIGHT’s first EP, released September 16. The six-track project brings together “V8,” “YANKEE SQUAT,” “TRANSLATE,” “I<3 IT,” “MONSTER,” and “INVINCIBLE,” giving listeners a fuller look at the group as they continue finding their sound and direction. Arriving alongside “Yellow Brick Road,” the EP places the song within a larger period of growth for ONE OR EIGHT, with the members continuing to build their identity through music, performance, and the connection they have created with 1DERZ. MIZUKI has also described “Yellow Brick Road” as part of the group’s ongoing challenge to reach further into the world from Japan, making the song feel connected to the chapter they are currently writing for themselves.
That connection will continue to grow through the months ahead. The group’s ONE OR EIGHT SHŪKAI 2026-2027 in JAPAN -2GATHER- fan meeting tour will take them across all 47 prefectures of Japan, while ONE OR EIGHT Special SHOWCASE 2026 in ASIA -V8- will bring the members to Singapore on October 21, Manila on October 23, and Bangkok on October 25. After spending 2026 meeting fans across North and South America through their GATHER tour, the group is carrying that same energy into the next part of their journey.
ONE OR EIGHT’s “Yellow Brick Road” becomes the ending theme for Black Clover 2nd Season, connecting Asta’s determination to become Wizard King with the group’s own “BET ON YOURSELF” philosophy. The release follows their first EP, EN-GÏNE, and comes as the eight-member group continues growing alongside 1DERZ through international performances, new music, and upcoming fan events across Japan and Asia.
