NewJeans continues to make their mark as one of the most powerful girl groups of their generation, making it clear that their influence within global streaming services has no signs of diminishing. Each achievement made by this group will see them leave their mark that transcends the realm of temporary trends.
The company announced on the 21st of December that “Super Shy” by NewJeans broke the record of more than 800 million streams on Spotify. It is the third song from this band to reach this milestone, in the wake of huge success by “OMG” and “Ditto.” The industry presents a high turnover rate, yet the band has accomplished this on a regular basis.
Their success is not something which has come in one moment. The repertoire of the band consists of 15 songs which have all broken the barrier of 100 million streams. NewJeans have already broken the barrier of over 7 billion streams, which not only showcases their popularity but also the loyalty of their fan base, which is not a common phenomenon in the initial stages of their careers.

The timing of this achievement is also quite special as it came when they were resolving some legal issues with their agency, ADOR. The courts have also recently upheld that the exclusive contract between New Jeans and ADOR is still valid. They were initially considering appealing, but the members withdrew themselves from the appeal on the 12th of December.
With this decision, ADOR has confirmed that the rookies Haerin and Hyein have chosen to rejoin the agency, with communication underway with the other members. Though little is known, this is set to mark the start of a fresh era for the group, one that is defined by resolution, among other factors.
Considered cumulatively, these achievements represent a narrative of both success and challenges. NewJeans are setting streaming records at an incredible speed and are earmarked to enter an era of stability and planning. As “Super Shy” joins the lists of “OMG” and “Ditto” in the 800-million-stream club, there is little doubt that NewJeans are shaping international streaming culture. This critical juncture, NewJeans find themselves at the crossroads of artistic success and industry accolades, leading the way to the future of pop music while making their mark on the global community.
