Four Guys, Three Continents, Two Years: RYLAI Drops Rock-Infused Single ‘Fall For You’

Rising alternative and indie-pop artist RYLAI has returned with his brand-new single “Fall For You.” The track leans into the rock realm and carries the weight of a two-year creative process. This release follows his June debut single “Without You” and further cements his artistry as one rooted in passion, persistence, and global collaboration.

Unlike the polished machine-driven rollouts often seen in mainstream music, “Fall For You” is the result of a true grassroots effort. RYLAI took charge of the entire production, from the earliest drafts to the final comping and timing, building the track layer by layer. Along the way, he invited four musicians spanning three continents to contribute. The team included RYLAI and Liner from Korea, Dylan from the U.S., and Faekt from Hungary. Their diverse backgrounds added unique textures, and the outcome reflects both their dedication and the spirit of global creativity.

Musically, the song thrives on its rich, dynamic guitar work. Dylan contributed warm acoustic textures and atmospheric effects, giving the track an organic foundation. Faekt handled the overdrive guitar sections and experimented with a bold double-octave technique that adds grit and edge. Liner rounded out much of the remaining guitar parts and composed memorable melodies for sections like the intro, outro, and Verse 3. RYLAI added his own layers and wove them together in the final production process.

The instrumentation goes beyond guitar. The song features two different bass lines with Faekt and Dylan splitting duties to give the track layered low-end depth. Analog synths powered by a Moog build atmospheric swells that complement the guitars. The percussion is equally intricate. While some drum elements survived from the original demo, most parts were re-recorded to create a live and immediate punch.

The vocals are another standout element. What began as a straightforward recording session grew into a massive wall of sound, with 92 vocal tracks in the final mix. Faekt guided standout sections such as crowd vocals and harmonies. RYLAI stacked intricate ad-libs and background layers, while Colby fine-tuned the crowd vocals and doublings to ensure every line was locked into place. The result is a vocal production that feels both raw and cinematic, serving as the emotional centerpiece of the song.

The collaborative process behind “Fall For You” underscores its authenticity. With contributions recorded across three continents and refined over two years, the single captures a rare energy. It is a track born from dedication, distance, and a shared love of music. As RYLAI explains, “Four guys, three continents, two years, and one song we poured everything into. Will the world feel what we felt making it? I guess we’re about to find out.”

Beyond its technical accomplishments, “Fall For You” carries deep emotional resonance. It channels both intimacy and grandeur. The track is a reminder of how grassroots music-making can rival major-label productions. More importantly, it is a song that doesn’t just sound alive—it feels alive, pulsing with the spirit of collaboration and discovery.

RYLAI’s personal journey is equally inspiring. Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, his passion for music was sparked at the end of sixth grade when he rediscovered an old digital piano that had been sitting in his home for years. Although he had taken piano lessons as a child, it was in this quiet, self-directed period that he truly connected with music. Simple melodies soon evolved into original compositions, setting him on a creative path that continues today.

His artistry reflects the wide range of influences that shaped him. He credits Naul of Brown Eyed Soul for inspiring his emotional head voice and chord progressions. He looks to Ado for vocal intensity and expressive delivery. From Seo Tai Ji, the legendary Korean pop-rock icon, he learned the value of genre-bending and experimentation. And from Kendrick Lamar, he draws inspiration in storytelling. Just as Lamar crafts albums with overarching narratives, RYLAI’s music is designed as a connected story, with each release unfolding a new chapter.

With “Fall For You,” RYLAI adds another piece to his story. The single reflects friendship, creativity, and the belief that music can bridge borders. It is a bold and honest step from a young artist determined to leave his mark not just as a singer, but as a storyteller and creator of worlds.
