The Electrifying Night of DKB's 'Dark Strange' 2024 World Tour in Atlanta

Welcome back #SoundLovers! We are excited to delve into the electrifying atmosphere that enveloped the city of Atlanta during DKB's highly anticipated return as part of their North American 'Dark Strange' 2024 World Tour. The anticipation leading up to the event was palpable, with fans eagerly awaiting the moment they would witness their favorite K-pop group grace the stage of the renowned Variety Playhouse.



DKB, also known as 다크비, made their debut on February 3, 2020, under BRAVE ENTERTAINMENT. Their debut mini album 'Youth' served as a testament to their many talents, seamlessly blending RnB and hip-hop influences to create a sound that was uniquely theirs. Consisting of members E-Chan, D1, GK, Heechan, Lune, Junseo, Yuku, and Harry June, DKB's arrival to the K-Pop scene was met with excitement as their lead single, "Sorry Mama," showcased their vocal abilities -- laying the foundation for their future musical endeavors. As time continues, DKB showcase just how their songwriting and music production skills set them apart in an industry that values authenticity and self-expression. Their dedication to crafting intricate choreography adds another dimension to their performances, highlighting their commitment to delivering top-notch entertainment for their fans. Since their debut, DKB has been making waves in the K-pop realm, drawing attention for their dynamic stage presence and innovative musical style. Their music strikes a chord with fans, not only for its catchy tunes and heartfelt lyrics but also for the genuine passion and sincerity that radiate from each member during their performances.


When the lights dimmed at the Variety Playhouse, the cheers of Atlanta #BB (the official fandom name) reverberated through the venue, signaling the arrival of DKB on stage. The energy in the air was electric as the group kicked off the show with a high-energy performance of "What the Hell" followed by "TAEKWONDO," setting the tone for an unforgettable night of music and entertainment. Before continuing, it was time for DKB to introduce themselves beginning with Harry June, and continuing to Yuku, then E-Chan -- who engaged BB in a short call-and-response by saying, "I say E-, you say Chan!" before introducing himself. Next was D1 and GK who both expressed that they have missed BB, and ending with Junseo and Heechan. DKB quickly picked the venue's energy back up with a powerful performance of "Ghost Ridah" and "Youth."



Ensuring the spotlight was shared amongst all members and their diverse talents, DKB meticulously crafted their setlist to encompass a wide range of performances. This included songs from their debut album and subsequent releases, unit stages, and cover performances. Heechan, E-Chan, and GK presented a rendition of NCT U's "Misfit." before a brief VCR interlude, during which the members transitioned into a more casual attire of jeans and plain white tees. As the venue filled once again, the group returned to the stage, showcasing their rap prowess with "Curious (호기심)" before transitioning into "LET'S DANCE," providing Junseo an opportunity to highlight his exceptional dance skills. DKB continued with the upbeat and lighthearted stage of "Go Up," emphasizing their versatility in not only delivering high-energy, powerful songs but also their ability to perform a more relaxed track with the same level of enthusiasm.


DKB took a moment to reflect on their 2022 tour before altering the ambiance of the venue. As fans continued to fill the venue with thunderous applause, DKB slowed the pace to showcase their renowned RnB and hip-hop infused sound with "Star," and "Hello Goodbye." Next was Junseo's solo stage which brgan with a brief instrumental where he was able to demonstrate his dance prowess before serenading the audience with a soulful rendition of Keisha Cole's "Love" before D1, Harry June, and Yuku joined the stage for a performance of PRETTY MUCH's "Teacher." As D1 and Yuku departed, GK joined Harry June and Junseo for an electrifying performance of Ed Sheeran's "Antisocial." Following an impressive segment of covers, DKB returned to the stage with "I Need Your Love" which had fans enthusiastically chanting the fan chant. Following, E-Chan elevated the venue's energy with a solo performance of "NBA" before being joined by the other members -- now attired in a relaxed rock, street-style attire -- to conclude the evening with captivating performances of "Sober" and "Flirting X," which had fans harmonizing to every word before taking a moment to address the audience once more.



During this segment of the presentation, E-Chan invited fans to participate in a sing-along of "Flirting X." He expressed his delight at hearing the entire crowd singing the song, an experience he described as unprecedented. The group then engaged in a brief game of "Finish The Lyrics , with GK starting with "Samsung," E-Chan with "Work Hard," and Yuku attempting to elicit fan participation for "Get Away." Subsequently, E-Chan tested the audience's familiarity with the next song, and to his surprise, the fans successfully completed the lyrics to "24/7." Beaming with joy, E-Chan inquired if the attendees could maintain their energy levels, prompting another round of enthusiastic cheers that reverberated throughout the venue. The event progressed to a segment of cover performances, beginning with Heechan's captivating solo dance to Michele Morrone's "Watch Me Burn." He was later joined by Harry June, Junseo, E-Chan, D1, and Yuku for additional dance covers, including Tyla's "Water." E-Chan and GK presented a mesmerizing rendition of "1 on 1," followed by a collaborative dance cover of NCT U's "Baggy Jeans" with the remaining members. The energy reached its peak with a powerful performance of "Turning Point."


It was finally to bring the night to an end with ending ments from the members. Beginning with Junseo, where he shared that he was able to see his aunt -- who lives in Atlanta -- for the first time 23 years. GK was sure to thank everyone for their love and support, as well his gratitude for those who came out to see DKB. Heechan was sure to relate his ment back to something that fans of Atlanta could connect with -- peaches. Asking, "I heard peaches were popular here, right? Because you know... my nickname is Yang Peaches." D1 expressed his gratitude for everyone "welcom(ing) us warmly," and hinting at their intent to return to Atlanta! E-Chan asked fans to promise to come back the next time that DKB comes back, and thanked everyone for, "having fun with DKB!" Fans got Yuku hooked on the A-town simple, where he recognized that "American BBs know how to party." Harry June ended the evening's ments by acknowledging that he wasn't feeling 100% and promised to bring more amazing performances next time. It was time close the evening with a heartfelt performance of "REAL LOVE" and the fun-filled sound of "Coca Colada." to finish out the encore stages, DKB performed "Real Love," where Junseo tricked the other members into make an over-the-head heart. As the other member would start to make their half of the heart, Juseo would run off to the next member. After Harry June threw water onto the crowd, D1 started sprinkling Junseo with the remains of water in the bottle to which Junseo jokingly responded by picking up the entire crate of artists' water. After setting it down, he found his next target to create a heart with -- or not.



DKB's enchanting vocals, spellbinding choreography, and infectious energy captivated the audience, leaving them in awe of the group's undeniable talent and stage presence. The Atlanta leg of their tour was a spectacle to behold, filled with moments that will be etched in the memories of attendees, solidifying DKB's reputation as a powerhouse in the music industry.
