- ASH ISLAND Is Finally Coming to the U.S. — And He’s Bringing the Storm With Him.
For fans of raw emotion, boundary-pushing soundscapes, and a voice that carries the weight of a generation’s struggles, ASH ISLAND is a name that resonates deeply. Now, after years of dominating Korea’s underground and mainstream hip-hop scenes, the enigmatic artist is finally heading to North America — embarking on his very first U.S. tour, set to make waves across major cities this fall. It’s a milestone that marks both a career evolution and a cultural bridge — as ASH ISLAND brings his uniquely Korean voice and artistic vision to a global audience hungry for authenticity and innovation. Yoon Jin-young, better known by his stage name ASH ISLAND, first emerged on the national radar as a teenage contestant on High School Rapper 2 in 2018. Even in a competition filled with talented hopefuls, his deep, husky tone and candid, poetic lyricism set him apart immediately. His performances were raw, vulnerable, and charged with the kind of emotional grit rarely seen on Korean TV. That season was a launchpad — catapulting him into Korea’s fiercely competitive hip-hop industry, where he quickly gained respect for his sincerity and willingness to explore darker emotional terrain. His music wasn’t just about bravado or bravura; it was a heartfelt conversation about youth, pain, and the search for identity. Soon after, he signed with Ambition Musik, a powerhouse label founded by legendary producers and rappers The Quiett and Dok2. This move gave him the creative freedom and industry muscle to craft his distinct sound — one that would reshape how Korean hip-hop communicates vulnerability. In 2019, ASH ISLAND dropped his eponymous debut album, “ASH ISLAND,” a project that many consider the blueprint for his signature style. The record melded trap beats with ambient, sometimes ethereal production — layered with his rasping vocals that sounded like a late-night confession whispered over a storm. Tracks like “Empty Head” became anthems of emotional unrest — resonating with listeners facing their own battles with anxiety and loneliness. His ability to balance melody and rap, fragility and power, set him apart from many contemporaries who leaned heavily into one style or the other. Following this, ASH ISLAND released “ISLAND”, a more expansive and sonically experimental album that incorporated guitar-driven rock elements and moody synths. Songs like “Wonder” showed his evolution as an artist unafraid to push boundaries, blending genres effortlessly while staying true to the introspective themes that define his work. Also came “ROSE”, an album that deepened his exploration of emotional complexity. Featuring collaborations with Korean R&B star LeeHi and rapper CHANGMO, the album became a critical and fan favorite — with singles like “Beautiful” and “ ERROR ” showcasing his maturation as a storyteller and his knack for crafting earworm melodies laced with melancholy. For years, international fans have clamored for ASH ISLAND’s live performances outside of Korea — and now, that wish is finally coming true. The 2025 U.S. tour promises to be a sensory experience — ASH ISLAND’s shows are known for their immersive energy — from moody lighting and emotive visuals to moments of raw, unfiltered connection with the audience. This tour will bring that same intensity to venues across New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, and more. Ready to witness ASH ISLAND live? Tickets for the U.S. tour are on sale now — grab yours before they’re gone. The island is coming. Get ready to feel the storm.

Her stage presence was electric, when she raised the mic, and the fans instantly joined in chanting, the voices blending with the music, channeling the same energy. That interaction captured the true essence of the live performance. During the third song, “ Datte Atashino Hero” (だってアタシのヒーロー) ," the band stepped forward, playing just feet away from the audience, except for drummer Yuya Ishii, who remained at the kits. The touring members, Pablo (Guitar), Akito Shirai (Keyboard), Yand uko Yanagino (Bass) brought the energy even closer. The fans roared in response, immersed in the power of the moment. It was one of the most interactive moments of the night, pure fun and fueled by LiSA’s charm and the fans’ enthusiasm. One of the most surprising performances for the night was during “ GL ”. As a staff brought up a chair onto the stage, a sense of anticipation spread through the crowd, then to everyone’s surprise, LiSA invited a fan onto the stage to join her. She asked the fan to sit in the chair then began dancing around the fan, creating a memory the lucky fan will cherish forever. LiSA changed to a fabulous red kimono before singing “ Akeboshi (明け星) ” the opening theme for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc. The spectacular lighting paired perfectly with her clear, powerful vocals. This is the performance everyone had been waiting for. The paced slowed a bit as LiSA began “ Unlasting ”, a heartfelt ballad moved the audience with her clear vocals. The session concluded with “ Homura (炎) ” another anthem from Demon Slayer, her soaring vocals left the crowd in awe. LiSA surprised the fans with yet another custom change, this time, an asymmetrical dress pieced together form out flannel shirts. A totally LiSA, punky and playful. then she ignited the floor with another banger “ Isseino Kassai (一斉ノ喝采) ”, that had the crowd dancing. Fans paid her back with wild cheers and actually sang along with LiSA for this song. But nobody saw coming was “ ReawakeR ” on the setlist. The fans were floored when Felix’s voice came out and clapped to the beats. When staff rolled out a drum to the center of the stage, everybody knew what was next: “ ADAMAS ” Every time LiSA hit the drum, the crowd jumped like they were riding the same pulse. And finally, “ Gurenge (紅蓮華) ” the whole venue sang in a unison, no cue needed. It wasn’t just a concert, it was a shared memory, the kind you don’t forget. Encore, the crowd chanted LiSA’s name for a good while, voices echoing through the venue. A few hours into the show, and somehow the fans’ energy only grew stronger. LiSA and the band returned to the stage and had photo time with the audience. LiSA then taught the fans a Japanese phrase: 今日は良い日だ - Today is a good day. Next came another great hit, “ Crossing Field ”, the opening theme for Sword Art Online , a song fans had been requesting all night. She ended the night with “best day, best way,” then jumped down to the show floor, weaving through the crowd and greeting fans up close. Finally, she gave her signature farewell: “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you,” while pointing toward the crowd as if trying to lock eyes with every face. Then, with a pinky raised, she made a promise she’ll be back in the U.S. for more shows. LiSA ’s first North American tour stop in New York City was more than just a strong debut. It showed how far her music has reached. From start to finish, the night was packed with energy, emotions, and genuine connection. Whether it was her powerful vocals or small, spontaneous moments with the crowd. LiSA left a lasting impression. And with a promise to return. It felt less like a goodbye and more like something that’s just getting started. Full Photo Gallery by Lin

- Defend the Crown: X:IN on Power, Identity, and Breaking Boundaries
With a fierce multinational lineup and an unapologetically bold concept, X:IN is carving a distinct lane in K-pop. The five-member girl group — made up of members from Korea, India, and Russia — recently sat down with us to talk about their latest mini album Defend Myself , a raw and genre-blending project that dives deep into the realities behind the spotlight. From their globally unique identity to the personal touch behind their creative process, X:IN shares the stories, synergy, and sisterhood that power their rise — all while keeping their READYs close to heart. K Fuse: Thank you X:IN, for joining us today! For readers who might be new to your group, could you briefly introduce yourselves? 한나 - Hello, we are X:IN, a multinational 5-member girl group with members from Korea, India, and Russia. We’re an all-rounder player with a girl crush concept. K Fuse : Your group is known for its global identity and unique background. Can you tell us what set X:IN apart from other groups? 아리아 - I think our team is very special because the combination of a Russian, Indian and Koreans in a group is a first. We’ve got a distinct style and colour that sets us apart. Our concepts are not obvious or conventional. We always try to come up with something new and unique. And I believe that the synergy we create is also unmatched. K Fuse : Let's talk about your latest comeback. First off, congratulations on the comeback! Can you introduce Defend Myself for readers who may be discovering you for the first time? 이샤 - Our 3rd mini album ‘Defend Myself’ contains the stories of the struggles and intense moments we’ve experienced behind the glamorous image often shown, and it tells how we tried to protect ourselves through it all. The album includes four tracks, the title track ‘attention seeker’, and the B-sides ‘suri suri maha suri susuri sabaha’, ‘bitter love’, and ‘almost done’. Each song has a completely different vibe and genre, so if you listen to them in order, you’ll be able to feel our various sides through the album itself. K Fuse : The title track, “Attention seeker,” is such a bold anthem. What does it mean to you? 니즈 - We honestly expressed our lives as idols as well as our inner emotions through this song. It’s a meaningful song for us because I think it really expresses our story in our own unique X:IN’s color. K Fuse : What was the creative process like for this comeback? 노바 - The creative process for this album was really collaborative. All the members took part in writing lyrics, and Hannah created the choreography for ‘Sabaha’. We each brought our own ideas and emotions to the table, which made the album feel even more personal and special. K Fuse : Any favorite tracks on the mini album besides “Attention seeker”? 한나 - I personally like ‘almost done’ K Fuse : Let’s talk visuals! The styling for this era is bold. What inspired the look? 아리아 - Im so glad that the fans have been loving the styling this time. We paid extra attention to details and made sure every outfit gave off the exact vibe and concept we were going for. Props to our styling team for such amazing work. The inspiration was mostly from the movie Madmax with hints of different aesthetics here and there for each outfits. K Fuse: How has X:IN changed since your debut? 이샤 - When we debuted, everything was new for us, so we were unfamiliar and awkward. But now, compared to then, we’ve become more comfortable, and because of that, we express ourselves more actively so we’ve definitely grown in these ways. K Fuse: Any fun behind-the-scenes moments from filming or promotions? 노바 - Maybe some fans noticed already, but in Hannah’s rap part in ‘Almost done’, she slightly misspelled the phrase “lost my breath,” so it kind of turned into “lost my bread.” We always jokingly tease her like, “Hannah, where’s your bread? Has anyone seen Hannah’s bread?” But honestly, even with that little slip, her part turned out so cool and charismatic. K Fuse : Finally, as we wrap up our interview, are there any final words you would like to leave for your fans and our readers? Nizz - We’re always so grateful to our beloved READYs. You’re always by our side to cheer us, giving us the strength, which really becomes the driving force that makes us work harder. We want to share this with even more READYs in the future! Hannah - Please give lots of love to our latest album “Defend Myself” and to all the albums to come. Because we, X:IN, are always prepared, please support and watch over us with love. Thank you As X:IN continues to break boundaries and redefine what it means to be a global girl group, one thing is clear — they’re just getting started. With Defend Myself , the group showcases not only their versatility but their unshakable identity and drive. Whether you’re a longtime READY or a new fan discovering their sound for the first time, now is the perfect time to dive into their world. Stream the new mini album, watch the “Attention Seeker” music video, and follow X:IN as they continue to rise — one fearless step at a time.

- ARTMS Opens the Doors to ‘Club Icarus’ — A Sonic Sanctuary for the Broken
In the heart of the city, where the lights never dim but the silence grows louder, ARTMS dares to ask: what if the fall was the beginning of flight? With their latest project, Club Icarus , ARTMS is no longer just a rising force in the alt-K-pop landscape — they’ve carved out an entirely new dimension. This isn’t just an album drop. It’s a declaration. It’s a space. Following the conceptual legacy they began building as five individual artists now united, HeeJin, HaSeul, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry deliver a release that blends mythology, modernity, and emotional honesty into a deeply atmospheric listening experience. With storytelling baked into every synth, every movement, every breath — Club Icarus exists not just to be heard, but to be felt . Central to the album is the title track, “Icarus,” a reinterpretation of the classic Greek myth. Traditionally a tale of overambition and fatal pride, the ARTMS version flips the narrative: what if Icarus didn’t die in the sun — but found his truth in the fall? The lyrics thread together themes of isolation, hope, and quiet resilience, delivered with haunting harmonies and textured production that sits somewhere between dream-pop and theatrical electronica. Sonically and visually, the track captures the moment after the fall — where breath returns, and the sky somehow still waits. “Icarus” isn’t a warning. It’s a promise. You can start again — even from the ashes.” ARTMS’s creative collaboration with boundary-pushing production house Digipedi has resulted in two distinct official music videos for “Icarus” — each exploring different facets of the song’s emotional core: Shot in a stark minimalist setting, the Club Version centers exclusively on contemporary dance. With choreography that leans on rawness over spectacle, this video strips everything back — no distractions, no filters — just movement as survival. The members move as one, yet express individual longing, isolation, and strength, capturing the album’s themes with visceral clarity. More than a music video, this 14-minute visual is an immersive short film. Lush with narrative symbolism and carefully composed visual metaphors, the Cinematic Version extends the ARTMS multiverse , pulling threads from previous releases while standing confidently on its own. Each frame feels like a gallery installation: from cityscapes bathed in melancholy to moments of ritualistic rebirth, the story is abstract — but emotionally legible. Both visuals show us what happens when idols become auteurs, and K-pop transcends the stage into something more akin to performance art. The six tracks of Club Icarus unfold like chapters in a secret diary — elegant, intimate, and brutally honest. From the moment you press play, ARTMS creates a sonic cocoon for those quietly unraveling, but still hoping. Club Icarus opens with “Club for the Broken,” a cinematic prelude that feels like stepping into a dimly lit room where everyone is quietly nursing their wounds. Sparse, haunting instrumentation lays the foundation as layered whispers and breathy vocals echo like memories down a long corridor. It’s less a song and more a door — one that creaks open to reveal the emotional terrain ARTMS is about to guide us through. It doesn't ask for answers; it offers understanding. If you're here, it's because you’ve felt something heavy — and that’s exactly what this first track holds space for. Then comes “Icarus,” the album’s title track and emotional centerpiece. Where most retellings of the Icarus myth focus on the danger of flying too high, ARTMS flips the lens — inviting us to imagine what it means to fall and survive . Lush synthesizers swell beneath lyrics that wrestle with vulnerability and rebirth. Vocally, the group oscillates between fragility and power, as if embodying the very moment between freefall and flight. It’s a bold anthem for those learning to live with their scars, and perhaps, to find beauty in them. “Obsessed” pivots sharply — a glitchy, distorted confession that dives into the psychology of desire, perfectionism, and control. It’s not about romantic infatuation in the typical K-pop sense. Instead, this track unpacks the kinds of obsession that feel like survival: obsession with image, with validation, with becoming someone who’s "enough." With staccato beats, whispered harmonies, and sonic tension that never quite resolves, “Obsessed” feels like spiraling in slow motion — mesmerizing, dangerous, and deeply real. “Goddess” reclaims the narrative with swagger and self-possession. Here, ARTMS doesn’t just sing about empowerment — they embody it. The production is sleek and metallic, with sharp percussion and vocal layering that gives each member a sense of command. The lyrics blur the lines between myth and reality, declaring the feminine divine as both ethereal and grounded, untouchable yet intimately human. It’s not a call to worship — it’s a reminder that the sacred already exists within. On “Verified Beauty,” the tempo drops and the existential weight sets in. The song meditates on the blurred boundaries between authenticity and artifice in an age of constant digital curation. The melody feels deceptively light, almost dreamy — but listen closely and you’ll catch the ache beneath the surface. It’s the sonic equivalent of scrolling late at night, comparing yourself to filtered faces and wondering if anyone actually sees the real you. In this track, ARTMS doesn’t offer a solution — only solidarity. Finally, “BURN” closes the album like the last flicker of candlelight in a dark cathedral. At once mournful and liberating, it brings together everything that’s come before — loss, transformation, grief, and grace — into a final act of emotional surrender. The instrumentation builds gradually, like ashes turning to smoke, until it erupts into a quietly defiant climax. This isn’t a song about destruction. It’s about choosing to rise through it. “BURN” doesn’t end with certainty, but with openness — an unfinished sentence written in fire. What ARTMS has created is a space for those who feel too much in a world that feels nothing at all. Each song and visual is an open invitation to let your guard down, to cry a little (or a lot), and to remember that vulnerability is not a flaw — it’s a flex. With so much K-pop defined by high-energy hooks and glittering perfection, Club Icarus dares to slow down. It asks: “What happens when the lights go down and the crowd disappears?” The answer? You find yourself — or at least a version of yourself brave enough to feel. Whether you’re a longtime fan tracking every clue in the ARTMS lore or a new listener drawn to their cinematic aesthetic and conceptual depth, this project is a gateway — and a compass. South Korean singer-songwriter BIBI brought her electric energy and signature vulnerability to The Theater at MGM National Harbor, delivering an unforgettable performance on her [EVE] world tour. With her genre-defying blend of R&B, hip-hop, and alternative pop, BIBI turned the intimate 3,000-seat venue into a pulsing, emotional experience that resonated with every fan in the room. Photo Credit: Jason P. From the moment BIBI stepped on stage, clad in a dramatic, asymmetrical outfit and exuding effortless charisma, the crowd was captivated. She opened with "Midnight Cruise," her haunting, cinematic track that set a moody tone for the evening. The setlist wove through her most beloved tracks, including "Kazino," "The Weekend," and the fiery "BIBI Vengeance," each accompanied by slick choreography and immersive visuals. Between songs, BIBI shared personal anecdotes—stories about heartbreak, growth, and finding strength in solitude. Her candor and quirky humor deepened the connection with the audience, creating a sense of intimacy that went beyond the music. Photo Credit: Jason P. The Theater at MGM National Harbor was an ideal venue for BIBI 's multi-layered performance. Its state-of-the-art acoustics and close seating allowed for a deep sonic experience, while the lighting design—moody reds, blues, and stark whites—added emotional weight to her more introspective numbers. Fans in the front rows were treated to up-close moments with the artist, while even those in the back reported excellent views and sound. The crowd was a lively mix of longtime followers and curious newcomers, all united by BIBI's magnetic presence. For those lucky enough to witness her live, BIBI 's concert was more than a show; it was an invitation into her world, unfiltered and unforgettable.
- From fearless to unforgettable — LE SSERAFIM’s Story is Set to Hit a New Stage with "EASY CRAZY HOT" World Tour!
The wait is over. LE SSERAFIM — the powerhouse quintet of KIM CHAEWON, SAKURA, HUH YUNJIN, KAZUHA, and HONG EUNCHAE — is officially going global. This September, they’ll bring their explosive energy, magnetic charisma, and genre-defiant artistry across eight cities in their first-ever North American tour: ‘2025 LE SSERAFIM TOUR ‘EASY CRAZY HOT’ IN NORTH AMERICA.’ Kicking off in Newark on September 3 and wrapping in Mexico City on September 23 , the group is set to hit major arenas that have hosted legends. From the Prudential Center (BTS) to Kia Forum (Lady Gaga) and Arena CDMX (Katy Perry), LE SSERAFIM is stepping confidently into the spotlight — not as rising stars, but as a force of their own making. Sep 3 – Newark, NJ – Prudential Center Sep 5 – Chicago, IL – Wintrust Arena Sep 8 – Grand Prairie, TX – Texas Trust CU Center Sep 12 – Inglewood, CA – Kia Forum Sep 14 – San Francisco, CA – Bill Graham Civic Auditorium Sep 17 – Seattle, WA – Climate Pledge Arena Sep 20 – Las Vegas, NV – Michelob ULTRA Arena Sep 23 – Mexico City, MX – Arena CDMX LE SSERAFIM made waves from day one. Debuting on May 2, 2022, under Source Music, a HYBE label, they became the first girl group to launch under the HYBE umbrella. Their debut mini album FEARLESS introduced a bold new energy to K-pop — one that refused to flinch in the face of pressure. The debut wasn’t just talked about — it was historic . " FEARLESS ” charted on the Billboard Global 200, and the album quickly became the best-selling debut by a girl group in K-pop history at the time. With a name derived from “I’m Fearless” (an anagram), LE SSERAFIM made their purpose clear: they were here to rewrite the rules. More than a concert, ‘EASY CRAZY HOT’ is the culmination of a trilogy — a sonic and visual evolution that has taken fans from the confident vulnerability of EASY, through the rebellious intensity of CRAZY, and into the blazing self-assurance of HOT. First unveiled in Incheon in April, the world tour has already sold out multiple nights across Japan, and is heading into a high-demand Asia leg in July and August with added dates in Taipei and Hong Kong. Now, North America gets its chapter. LE SSERAFIM ’s message to their global fandom, FEARNOT, is loud and clear: “Let’s make this moment hot, fun, and unforgettable.” Before hitting the U.S., the group is dropping a global gift: an English version of their Japanese lead single "DIFFERENT" - a disco-funk jam wrapped in confidence and self-love. It’s a fitting anthem for the tour, echoing LE SSERAFIM’s identity as fearless trailblazers carving their own lane. Credit: The Chosunilbo JNS/Imazins via Getty Images Since debuting in 2022 with FEARLESS , LE SSERAFIM has shattered expectations and redefined what it means to be a K-pop girl group. Charting on the Billboard 200 with ANTIFRAGILE , and hitting Top 10 four times in under three years — most recently with HOT — the group has made international waves. In 2024 alone, they made history as the fastest K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella, and walked away with wins at the MTV VMAs and EMAs. Their first English single, Perfect Night , even cracked the Billboard Hot 100. Their journey is no accident — it’s a statement. "I'm not afraid to be different. I'm not afraid to be me." — LE SSERAFIM, “DIFFERENT (English Ver.)” As the EASY CRAZY HOT tour gears up to land in North America, one thing is certain: LE SSERAFIM didn’t just debut fearlessly — they’re redefining what fearlessness sounds like. - BIBI’s ‘EVE’ Takes a Bite Out The Big Apple
Korea’s very own BIBI has embarked on her very first world tour, ‘EVE’. She made her third U.S. stop of the tour, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. This makes for her third performance in NYC since her debut in 2019 and the crowd of 5,000 strong watched as she put on a masterclass in storytelling. Photo Credit: Feel Ghood Music / PARK JAEHYO Pookies, as her fandom has been newly named, were held captive by her aura during the performances as well as during her, all-English, down-to-earth ments. She had everyone on their feet for the entire night at the iconic Mid-town venue. BIBI kicked off the show by playing her new album “Eve: Romance’ in its entirety. Weaved throughout those 14 songs were VCR’s that told the visual story of EVE, an old school Hollywood style starlet who met her demise from suicide only to be cloned decades later and brought back as EVE-1. Once the EVE storyline was complete, BIBI moved on to her most popular songs including crowd favorites ‘BIBI’s Vengeance’ and ‘The Weekend’ and ending her main set with her debut song ‘BINU’ before coming back for a 3-song encore. Photo Credit: Feel Ghood Music / PARK JAEHYO The nearly two and half hour set was packed with new hits, old hits, choreo and roleplay with the male backup dancers, seven outfit changes and one sprint through every aisle of the venue, with one lucky fan being pulled on stage for ‘Best Lover’. But the parts that were almost more entertaining than the songs themselves were the ments. BIBI took a lot of time to talk to the crowd. She told us about past relationships that inspired her songwriting, sounds that she is into lately (techno), and stories of her youth like being called out to Hongdae by a rapper friend to party, all without the assistance of a translator. She displayed a mix of angelic vocals, literally donning a pair of angel wings at one point, as well as the sultry R&B she’s known for. ‘EVE’ was an amazing display of talent, vulnerability, and candor. BIBI shared so many personal thoughts, feelings and stories that you couldn’t help but feel like you got to know her on a deeper level. She loves a casino buffet, has ADHD tendencies and learned English by watching stand up comedy. She was able to toe the line between conservative and outspokenness. Korea is known to be a very conservative society but BIBI was still able to feature many topics that are seen as taboo in her home country, most notably the VCR in which the EVE character slits her wrist in a bathtub, due to the stresses of being a star. Overall the engagement that she held with the crowd the entire night made the set fly by and her authenticity made you feel like you became friends with the 26 year old multi hyphenate star. Photo Credit: Feel Ghood Music / PARK JAEHYO Missed out on BIBI in NYC? There is still time to catch her in the U.S., during her remaining stops in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, two stops in Texas, two stops in California and Seattle.
- X:IN’s ‘Defend Myself’ Marks a Reckoning — Vulnerable, Bold, Unapologetic
After over a year away from the spotlight, rising K‑pop soon‑to‑breakouts X:IN return with their third mini‑album, Defend Myself —and it’s their most intense statement yet. Out May 17, 2025 under new agency BeBy Entertainment, the EP is a galvanizing dive into anxiety, image pressure, and emotional survival. Photo Credit: BeBy Entertainment Previously under Escrow, X:IN debuted April 2023 with “KEEPING THE FIRE,” followed by mini‑albums Synchronicity and The Real , a rock version of their debut, and the multilingual 2024 single “Seoul—Moskva” ft. TSOY. Now, with BeBy Entertainment, they’re charting uncharted territory. They’re a five‑member multinational group—E.sha, Nizz, Hannah (Korea), Nova (Russia), and Aria (India)—embracing limitless identity like the variable “X” in their name that means “furthermore.” This isn’t the playful kitsch we’ve seen before. Instead, it’s a raw, self‑defensive armour in four songs—“to protect me,” as the group puts it. X:IN’s leader E.sha explains that Defend Myself reveals two sides : the immaculate idol veneer, and the emotional chaos beneath. Each track shifts seamlessly between these worlds. Attention Seeker, the title track interrogates fame’s paradox: craving attention, yet recoiling from its glare. Members adopt “movie‑like personas” to express inner fragmentation—melding narcissism and authenticity in one cinematic beat. “Attention seeker” is a raw exploration of the duality in the public gaze. Lines such as “I want you to see me, but I’m scared you’ll judge me” capture the fraught tension between craving validation and fearing exposure. The cinematic imagery—each member embodying a distinct persona—mirrors the fragmented self often forced upon idols, where the real and the performative blur into one. The phrase “movie-like personas” is a meta-commentary on fame as a performance, inviting listeners to consider how identity is shaped by the external gaze. The track’s pulsating beats mimic heartbeat anxiety, the thrum of spotlight pressure. 수리수리마하수리 수수리 사바하 (SABAHA)A house base underpins occultized declarations of enchantment: “make me fall in love.” The energy is potent, playful, and strangely ritualistic—a sonic love‑spell. In “수리수리마하수리 수수리 사바하 (SABAHA),” the incantation-like title and chorus conjure a mystical aura. The lyrics play with love as both spell and surrender, with lines like “cast your charm, make me fall” invoking ritual and vulnerability wrapped in danceable energy. The occult imagery subverts typical K-pop love songs, turning desire into something powerful, even dangerous. Bitter love is a hushed, emotionally complex confession. Pride battles affection here—caught in that liminal stasis between wanting and holding silence. “Bitter love” is a study in emotional ambivalence. The lyrics depict a relationship caught in hesitation: “I want to reach out but my pride holds me back” reflects the internal battle between longing and fear of rejection. The song’s sparse arrangement highlights the quiet turmoil, emphasizing the emotional distance and unresolved tension. Almost done, the autobiographical closer: blood, sweat, tears, and hopeful emergence. With the refrain “I’m almost there,” X:IN stake their claim on becoming their own kind of artists. Aria encapsulates its purpose best: “I hope we are able to convey our true emotions and experiences… and encourage… to be unapologetically themselves.” Finally, “Almost done” carries the album’s emotional weight as a personal testimony. With lines like “Through pain and nights alone, I’m almost there” , X:IN declare resilience and hope. The refrain evokes the grueling journey of growth, artistic struggle, and self-acceptance. It’s both a personal and universal anthem of perseverance, underscored by uplifting harmonies and hopeful instrumentation. Photo Credit: BeBy Entertainment Together, the tracks map a psychological landscape—from external image anxiety to intimate self-reckoning—making Defend Myself a layered, courageous narrative about identity in the public eye. Defend Myself is more than a comeback—it's a movement from X:IN that allows them the opportunity to push past glossy performances and explore mental and emotional resilience in real-time. As they step away from idol facades, they edge closer to becoming full-fledged artists: unapologetic, introspective, and creatively unbound.
