Not quite the Filipino neighborhoods of Queens where the food and culture feel like home, but something more fleeting, more electric. For one night only, SOB’s became a pocket of Manila, with music as the bridge between worlds. This wasn’t just a concert—it was an OPM homecoming. Artists from across the Philippines took the stage to bring the soul of their country to a city that always has room for more stories, more sounds, and more heart. The night opened with David Reyeg, an up-and-coming alt-rock artist, and his band. From the second they hit the stage, their energy was off the charts. David’s vocals were raw and passionate, and the chemistry between him and his bandmates was undeniable. You could tell this wasn’t just a performance—it was a release. We also filmed at the guesthouse since it was a trip with friends. To be honest, the sunset scene wasn't part of the original plan, but filming went later than expected, and it ended up fitting well. I think we managed to keep that youthful and breezy concept throughout the video, and it matched the song perfectly. Sometimes, a song comes out of nowhere and just wrecks you —not because it’s trying to, but because it’s honest. That’s exactly what happened when Ravi.O The Assessini, a former Universal Music Latin artist, teamed up with Jiwon, ex-member of K-pop girl group BOTOPASS, to release their new single “Abyss of Love.” This isn’t your typical industry crossover. It’s a deeply personal, Latin-meets-Korean ballad that came together in one of the most unexpected ways—and it hits hard. The two met behind the scenes of SBS MegaTV’s Que Lunes, where Ravi.O hosts a variety show that spotlights K-pop idols, rockstars, and all kinds of creatives. He’s known for being animated, charming, and surprisingly fluent in K-culture. When Jiwon came on for an interview, what was supposed to be a routine taping ended with a bold, life-changing suggestion. “I just asked her, ‘What if you did one more song—not as an idol, just as you?’” Ravi.O recalls. That one moment turned into “Abyss of Love.” For Ravi, the track wasn’t written to impress—it was survival. “This track is everything my heart’s been through this year,” he says. “I recorded it with tears in my eyes. I really loved that woman, and I didn’t know how to let it out—except through this.” You can hear it. The song leans into the emotional pull of early 2000s pop—those rich, layered harmonies and nostalgic chord progressions you’d expect from Backstreet Boys  or NSYNC —but with the kind of vulnerability that hits like a late-night Super Junior  ballad. Not just a comeback—but a beginning. “This is the first time I’ve written both the lyrics and the melody,” she shares. “It’s my first real release as me , not part of a group. Ravi really pushed me to step out—and I’m glad I did.” Her verse—sung delicately in Korean—doesn’t just act as a translation. It feels like a reply, a reflection, a harmony to Ravi’s aching voice. Together, their vocals don’t blend as much as they mirror  one another—two stories, one feeling. Ravi.O has always had one foot in multiple worlds. Born to Puerto Rican and Italian parents and raised in North America, he cut his teeth under Get Away Music alongside artists like Nicky Jam , gaining a strong following in the Latin scene before stepping into Korean media. But his love for K-pop isn’t a new phase. “I’ve been obsessed with SS501  since forever,” he laughs. “So writing a song with someone like Jiwon? Unreal.” And while this may look like a textbook Latin x K-pop collaboration on paper, it’s really anything but. There’s no trend-chasing, no genre fusion checklist. Just two artists, in two languages, giving themselves permission to be honest.
